Hirsitikka is a family company from the Finnish archipelago crafting premium, handcrafted log lodges, homes, and villas since 2008. Every log is individually selected and scribed so that its natural shape is respected with minimal fitting loss. Our goal is simple \u2014 to build log architecture that endures for generations and feels naturally at home in the present.<\/p>\n

We are long-time members of the International Log Builders\u2019 Association (ILBA)<\/a> and members of the Finnish Log Builders\u2019 Association (Hirsitaito ry)<\/a>. <\/strong>We keep our team current with best practices and research in timber construction worldwide.<\/p>\n

Timo Aro-Heinil\u00e4 \u2014 Log Master, President<\/h3>\n

Timo develops advanced log-building techniques to achieve both precision and structural stability while preserving the character of the wood. He is dedicated to uniting technical mastery with architectural form \u2014 championing a contemporary vision for handcrafted log architecture.<\/p>\n

Timo invites architects and engineers to explore open-minded, creative solutions in wood. A Master of Social Sciences and a father of three, he combines artistic vision with inventive engineering. In his view, there are no problems \u2014 only choices.<\/p>\n

Hanna Aro-Heinil\u00e4 \u2014 CEO<\/h3>\n

Hanna is an internationally oriented branding and communications professional with over 20 years of entrepreneurial experience. She is passionate about visual communication, architecture, and brand development \u2014 and maintains a thoughtful relationship with social media.<\/p>\n

Before founding Hirsitikka, Hanna worked nearly five years in B2B print media. In addition to Hirsitikka, she has founded two companies: one focused on hospitality and cultural travel, and another design company.<\/p>\n

If Timo\u2019s ear protection is on tight in the atelier, Hanna is the one to call.<\/p>\n

Place \u2014 Naantali Archipelago<\/h2>\n

We work on Livonsaari, the last island on the route reachable without a ferry \u2014 a setting that suits us perfectly. The surrounding nature, archipelago light, and slow rhythm of the sea shape our sense of proportion, patience, and precision.<\/p>\n

Atelier, Capacity & Coordination<\/h2>\n

All critical joinery and fit-up take place under cover in our ~800 m\u00b2 log-built atelier<\/strong>, equipped with a bridge crane and a Wood-Mizer bandsaw. We can pre-build handcrafted log shells for homes and villas up to approximately 500 m\u00b2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For larger or international projects, we also coordinate production in carefully vetted partner workshops under Hirsitikka supervision<\/strong>, ensuring precision, surface quality and schedule reliability. On site, our own crew manages re-assembly and finishing \u2014 so every project bears our mark of craftsmanship and precision.<\/p>\n

We keep a ready stock of slow-grown Nordic pine \u2014 dense, stable, and ideal for long-lasting handcrafted structures<\/strong>. Each log is pre-selected for its density, grain character, and natural beauty. Every building is labelled with our logo, year, and individual log shell number \u2014 a mark of authentic craft and accountability.<\/p>\n
